About RLE

Photo by Vivid Images PhotographyRed Letter Events started over some really good Thai food on a Valentine’s date several years ago. We were talking about our dreams and the bright future we hoped for – about what we love to do and what we wish we didn’t have to do – about what we’re really good at. That’s where it happened – right there – wrestling over our future, that’s where Red Letter Events was born.

We found our own Harmony on the e-dating scene in 2004. We saw each other for the first time on the steps of the Seattle Aquarium and from there; a wonderful, exciting, complicated, messy and rewarding marriage has followed. Our marriage, as well as the skills we’ve acquired in our career and volunteer lives, make for a very effective wedding and event planning team.

Working with your spouse isn’t always easy – sometimes you find yourself charging off in two different directions and when you do come together, you’re stepping on each other’s toes. But those moments are occasional – most of the time, we do what we’re best at and have a ton of fun doing it.

My passion for wedding and event planning and design began when I was young – planning events for school, and later for work, family, friends, volunteer organizations, and now for RLE clients. My creativity is inspired by something as simple as a color, a word, a flower, a shape or an idea. I am organized, personable, a team-player, and work hard to think through every possible scenario for your wedding or event, so that it runs smoothly and hopefully exceeds your expectations.

When I’m not working on an event, I love baking, scrapbooking, spending time with my hubby, gardening, taking my dog, Zoie for a walk on a sunny day, HGTV, gerbera daisies, and making something look beautiful. I daydream about walking along the sandy beaches of Maui on a warm day – and yes, we would be more than happy to coordinate your Destination Wedding in Hawaii.

I am the analytical balance to Heather’s creative gifting. My background is in technology, project coordination, contracts and vendor relations. You’ll probably never find a more personable geek, though. I go out of my way to help the vendors that we work with on event day. I am the one that’s watching the clock, making sure that everyone knows what’s about to happen – the magic.

When I’m not working on an event, I love good music, good food, action/adventure movies, watching the Mariners and Seahawks, hiking, golfing and fly fishing. I daydream about riding my motorcycle on a sunny day and camping and hiking in the Cascades somewhere. Oh, and if Heather is going to Hawaii, so am I.

Make-A-Wish Foundation of Alaska and WashingtonRLE Cares

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Alaska & Washington grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.

Heather and Jason are proud to be Wish Granters for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Together, we interview each child granted to us to determine their wish, then make it come true. Each wish is as unique as the child who dreams it.

Red Letter Events is a proud supporter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Alaska & Washington.
